About Remove areas
Genuinely removes what you mark: each marked page is redrawn as a picture with those parts painted out, so the hidden words cannot be copied, searched or recovered. Find and remove marks every Aadhaar, PAN, phone number, email, card number or word you type. The cost: a marked page’s other words stop being selectable, and its form answers go.
How to use it
- Add the PDF, typing its password if it asks.
- Drag across each name, number, signature or photo that should go, on every page where it appears.
- Open Find and remove, tick what to look for or type words, and tap Find and mark them.
- Check every mark: tap one and its × takes it back.
- Press Remove them and save the redacted copy.
Good to know
Each page you mark is drawn as a picture at 200 dpi with the marked parts painted solid black, and that picture replaces the page. The words, pictures and comments that were on it are gone from the file, not hidden. Pages you do not mark stay exactly as they were, text and all.
Find and remove searches the real text of every page and marks each match for you to check before anything goes. It cannot see into a scan, which has no text: run Make searchable first and search the result, checking each mark, since the reading can miss a digit, or drag across those parts by hand.
Look through every page before you press the button, including small print, headers and the photo of an ID. Keep your original private: it still has everything in it. A redacted page is a picture, so its size grows a little and its words cannot be selected afterwards.

Does it find numbers in a scan?
Not as it is: a scan has no text to search. Make it searchable first, then search, or drag across those parts by hand.
