Extract or remove pages

Keep only the pages you pick, or take some out. Nothing is uploaded: the work happens on this device.

About Extract or remove pages

Type the pages, like 1-3, 7, 12-, and choose whether to keep only those or remove them. You get a new PDF built from the pages that stay, copied as they are, not redrawn. Removed pages are not in the new file at all.

How to use it

  1. Add the PDF, typing its password if it asks for one.
  2. Type the pages in the Pages box, such as 1-3, 7, 12-.
  3. Choose Keep these pages for a file of only those, or Remove these pages for everything else.
  4. Press Make the new file and save it.

Good to know

Ranges are forgiving. A backwards range such as 9-3 is read as 3 to 9, a page number past the end is simply left out, and -5 means the first five pages. The pages always come out in the order of the original, whatever order you type them in.

The new file’s name says which pages it holds, or which were taken out, so it never gets mixed up with the original. The result line counts the pages kept and removed, a quick check that you typed what you meant before the file goes to a portal or an office.

If Keep would give back every page, or Remove names no page that exists, nothing is made and the tool says why. At least one page must always stay. To put the kept pages in a different order as well, tap Then and choose Organise pages.
