About Insert pages
Put another PDF, or blank pages, into a PDF after any page, or in place of pages you name. Add the main PDF first, then the ones to put into it, in order. Blank pages take the size of the page before them.
How to use it
- Add the main PDF first: the one that gets the new pages.
- Add the PDFs to put into it, in order, or choose Blank pages and say how many.
- Choose After a page and type its number, or In place of pages and type the pages to swap out.
- Press Insert them and save the new file.
Good to know
Order matters. The first file you add always receives the pages, and every file after it goes in whole, one after another, at the place you chose. If you need only part of another PDF, cut it down first with Extract or remove pages, then bring the smaller file here.
Replacing is the quick way to swap a corrected or signed page into a long document. Type 3 to replace page 3, or 3-4 for two pages: they come out, and the new pages go in where the first of them was. The number of new pages does not have to match the number taken out.
Blank pages, from 1 to 500 at a time, take the size and direction of the page just before them, so a blank inserted into a landscape section is landscape too. They are useful as a page for handwritten notes, or to keep double-sided printing in step.
Questions people ask
How do I put pages at the very start?
Choose After a page and type 0.
Can I replace a page with a corrected one?
Yes. Choose In place of pages and type the pages to swap out; the new ones go where they were.
How is this different from Merge?
Merge puts whole files end to end. Insert puts pages into the middle of one.
Does the main PDF keep its password?
Yes. If it was locked, the new file is locked with the same password.
