About Page background

Gives pages a soft paper colour, cream, grey, mint, sky, rose or your own, behind everything, so text and drawings stay on top. Choose all pages or type which. A scanned page is one solid picture, so the colour will not show through it.

How to use it

  1. Add one or more PDFs.
  2. Pick Cream, Soft grey, Mint, Sky or Rose, or choose Your own and pick a colour.
  3. Leave Pages empty for every page, or type the ones to colour, such as 1-3, 7.
  4. Press Colour the pages and save the result.

Good to know

A tinted page can be easier on the eyes for long reading on screen, and helps sections stand out: a cream cover, mint for the appendix, rose for the pages a client must sign. The colours offered are pale on purpose, so black text keeps strong contrast against them.

The colour goes behind everything, so it never covers words or drawings. A page that is a scan or a full-page photo already has its own solid background, which sits on top of the new colour and hides it; this tool cannot tint those pages.

A coloured page uses ink when printed, and a home printer may show it as a faint grey. Keep an uncoloured copy for printing. Every file you add gets the same colour, and a locked file stays locked with the same password.

Questions people ask

Will it cover my text?

No. The colour goes behind everything on the page.

Can I colour only some pages?

Yes. Type them, like 1-3, 7.

Can I colour several files at once?

Yes. Every file you add gets the same colour, on the pages you typed.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The pages are coloured in your browser, on your device.

Can I take the colour off later?

Not with this tool. Keep your original, which is never changed, and start again from it.
