About Mark up
Highlight, underline, strike out, draw with a pen, ring things with boxes and circles, point with arrows, measure lengths in millimetres, and add sticky notes, text boxes, stamps and links. Notes are real comments a reader lists, and links open only web, email and phone addresses.
How to use it
- Add the PDF and pick a tool, such as Highlight, Pen, Box, Arrow, Note or Stamp.
- Drag across words to highlight, underline or strike them, or drag on the page for a shape, line or arrow.
- Type the words first for a note or a text box, then tap the page where it goes.
- Step between pages with the arrows and mark as many as you like.
- Press Save the marks and save the marked-up copy.
Good to know
Highlights come in yellow, green or pink; the pen, shapes and lines in black, blue or red. Highlights, shapes, stamps and pen strokes are drawn into the page itself, so they look the same in every reader and on paper. Notes and links are different: they are real PDF comments and links that a reader lists and opens.
Measure draws a line between two points and writes its length on paper, in millimetres, beside it: handy for checking a plan, a label or a margin. It measures the page at its full printed size, so it is only as true to life as the drawing it is laid on.
Links open only web addresses, email and phone numbers, so a link you add can never be made to run anything. Stamps are Approved, Paid, Received, Draft, Confidential, Urgent, Copy and Void. To put a picture or logo on the page, use Add image.
Questions people ask
Will others see my notes?
Yes. Notes are standard PDF comments, shown by most readers and listed in Read.
Which stamps are there?
Approved, Paid, Received, Draft, Confidential, Urgent, Copy and Void, or your own words in any script, such as a name or Verified.
Can I undo a mark?
Lines and pen strokes undo; other marks can be moved or removed until you save.
Do the marks print?
Highlights, shapes, pen strokes and stamps print with the page. How a note prints depends on the reader; many show only its small icon.
