About Add image

Put a photo, logo or picture of a stamp or signature on any page, then drag it into place and resize it. A PNG with a see-through background keeps it, so a logo or signature sits cleanly on the page.

How to use it

  1. Add the PDF, typing its password if it asks.
  2. Tap Choose a photo, a logo or a stamp, and pick the picture.
  3. Tap the page where it goes.
  4. Drag it into place, and drag its corner to make it bigger or smaller.
  5. Press Place it and save the new copy.

Good to know

The picture keeps its own shape as you resize it, so a logo never ends up squashed. Photos are kept sharp but light, so a phone photo does not swell the PDF by several MB. To change the picture, choose again before you tap the page. A photo taken sideways is turned the right way up first.

For a company stamp or an ink signature, photograph it on plain white paper in good light, then cut away the background in your phone’s photo editor or any app that saves PNG with a see-through background. A JPEG always carries a white box behind it, which shows on coloured or lined paper.

The picture becomes part of the page when you save. To move or replace a picture that was already in the PDF, use Edit pictures instead, which works on what is there rather than adding something new.

Questions people ask

Can I add my signature this way?

Yes. Photograph it on white paper, or draw it in Sign.

Which picture types work?

JPEG and PNG work everywhere; other types where your browser can read them.

Will a phone photo make the PDF huge?

No. A big photo is shrunk to a sensible size before it goes on, so the file stays light.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. It is placed on the page in your browser and stays on your device.
