Header and footer
A line along the top or bottom of every page. Nothing is uploaded: the work happens on this device.
About Header and footer
Adds a line along the top, the bottom, or both, of every page: a title, CONFIDENTIAL, a date or a reference. {page}, {total}, {date} and {name} are filled in for you. Any language works.
How to use it
- Add one or more PDFs.
- Type a header, a footer, or both, using {page}, {total}, {date} or {name} where you want them filled in.
- Choose Left, Centre or Right to line them up.
- Press Add them and save the result.
Good to know
{page} becomes each page’s number, {total} the number of pages, {date} today’s date written like 12 Oct 2026, and {name} the file’s name without .pdf. So a footer of {name}, page {page} of {total} gives every page its own line, which helps when printed pages get shuffled or a single page is photocopied on its own.
The line is small and plain, set a short way in from the edge of every page. If a page already has something printed there, such as a letterhead, try the other edge, or line it up on the other side. Every file you add gets the same header and footer, each filled in with its own name and page count.
Words in English letters go on as real text; Malayalam, Hindi and other scripts, including a file name in them used through {name}, go on as a picture of the words in the same place. For page numbers alone, with more styles and Bates numbering, use Page numbers.
